Who is the Giftless Gift For? For those who have everything and want nothing, give in their honour. We will mail you or your  honouree a Thank You card outlining exactly what the gift given  is doing for patients this holiday season.

$25 – One treatment meal for cancer patient  – nutrition is key and a vital part of any patient’s care. This gift will help provide a healthy snack and beverage to a patient while they are receiving chemotherapy at the Princess Margaret Cancer Centre.

$25 – One session of Symphony for the Soul   – Stress prior to receiving treatments is a major determinant of outcomes. One session of Symphony for the soul helps the Cancer Experience Program  provide an individual volunteer musician to play calm and uplifting music adjacent to stressful cancer treatment areas such as chemotherapy, radiotherapy and palliative care.

$50 – One session of CALM Support – Managing Cancer & Living Meaningfully, CALM, is a brief supportive-expressive therapy that was created to support patients living with advanced cancer and their families. Delivered by trained medical professionals,  CALM has been shown to have a profound impact on maintaining and improving the wellbeing of patients and their families at this most difficult time of their lives.

 $100 –  One month of Healing Beyond the Body patient navigation– This gift provides funding  for Lay navigators supported by a Social Work Manager. These navigators provide information about mainstream and complementary cancer care, facilitate navigation across the complex system of cancer care,  and provide emotional support. This navigation service is offered to patients and their family caregivers proactively to ensure equitable access to holistic patient- and family-centered care. 

$125 – Half a day of therapeutic support for children of patients – This gift provides an early childhood educator in a therapeutic play space, Magic Castle,  for the children of parents with cancer and children with cancer. This program is aimed to relieve the burden of parents with cancer and to support the well-being and healthy development of children who are living with the impact of cancer in their families.

$500 – Improve real patient experiences with Project Empathy – Project Empathy, formerly the Communication Skills Project, which provides cinematic resources for oncologists that will highlight important moments in oncologist-patient interactions, the challenges that they pose, and effective means to overcome them. This honorarium covers a patient or community partner to help build this program be representative of real patient needs and lived experiences so oncologists can provide the best care they possibly can through communication.
