Day 1 Down

As most of you know today was my very first day of treatment. Chemo therapy was the drug of choice. I wasn’t too fond of this idea at the beginning but my doctors assured me it was the right route. After seeing all the smiling faces in the day ward where I was today thoughts about me were washed away. So many small children playing like it was any other day just with some toxic drug going in through an intervenus. They were my idols. It really goes to show how cancer is all a mind game and how just a smile can make it all better even for a little while.

I really wanted to thank my friend (and extended family member) Haley and her amazing hockey team. Thank you willow dale red wings!

  2. A mutual friend posted your blog on her Facebook, and I’ve been quietly following it since your first post. (So not creepy…) But anyways, your strength and courage is incredibly inspiring. To be the 7th in the world to have melanoma outside the trachea is frightening, but your determination to beat cancer is uplifting. Plus, you donated your hair to help others when you yourself are in a time of need is truly selfless.

My thoughts and prayers are with you and your family, and you *will* beat cancer. It’s just a matter of time.

  3. Hi Carely,it’s Riley Cott’s mom. Riley forwarded me your blog and I read it every day. I just wanted to tell you how impressed I am by you. You are such a special person, you are so strong and positive. You are truely an inspiration to everyone that knows you. You are a beautiful person with a smile that lights up in your pictures. My thoughts and prayers are with you.
