Gus was a truly remarkable man, who inspired our Carley. Along their battles against cancer, Gus and Carley supported each other often by sending inspirational quotes they would find each day. On Carley’s final days, she was driven to visit Gus during one of his chemo appointments, just to support him as he did for her. Gus was a loving man that found a way to always make Carley feel like part of the family and all those he encountered. Together, they shared this unobstructed view on how to live life with blissful happiness.
The above photo of Gus with Carley was taken after Carley sang at the leafs game. He was so impressed by Carley’s singing that he bought a bouquet of flowers off a random man on the street and gave them to her as a surprise. That is Gus; spontaneous, thoughtful and living each day to the fullest.
Gus, you welcomed us into your heart and you will forever be a part of ours as you watch over us with Carley. Thank you for taking care of our Carley.
